Your Yard Sale is not an Antique Store.
I'll come clean and openly admit I enjoy going to garage sales, yard sales, tag sales or whatever "browse-through-my-unwanted-junk" type of sale I happen upon. I'm always on the lookout for some vinyl records, interesting old knick-knacks and, particularly, retro video games from the 90's or older. Sometimes I find cool things. Just today I paid four dollars (talked down from seven) for an unused copy of Elephun. Why would I buy a game for children? It's an elephant that sneezes butterflies. Why don't I have a room full of them.

Rocking and Bowling Don't Mix
I know I'm about to pour steak sauce on someone's sacred cow, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to officially declare the practice of "Rock-N-Bowl" an abomination. I go bowling to have a few drinks with the guys while hurling large, heavy balls at a target 62 feet away. I am not looking to get all glittered-up while dropping ecstasy in some glow-in-the-dark environment.

Stop Believin' Already!
In 1981, Journey released their album Escape
and, from it, unleashed a power ballad that was a 25-year ticking time bomb planted firmly in the world's ear drum. "Don't Stop Believin'" is great song, no doubt, but it's high-time we put a strict moratorium on it. Its overuse at parties, television and sporting events has made it irritating and clichéd. Nice going, popular culture. You ruined it forever!

Five Interesting Interpretations of Great Songs
There are plenty of good songs, but very few of those become great songs. They are the ones that go beyond being just music. They become part of the eclectic soundtrack to our lives. But therein lies a problem. What happens when we need a little more variety and contributions from the likes of Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus just aren't making the cut? Why not just take those familiar tunes you know and love and listen to them performed in unorthodox - sometimes downright bizarre - ways.

Who Gave Me The "Macarena"?
In late 1995, various incarnations of "Macarena" have infiltrated the eardrums of unsuspecting listeners with its catchy rhythm and infectious dance. Even though wildly popular, it peaked in late 1997.
In 2008, it somehow found its way back into my head.

"Enough with the Depeche Mode already, Sirius!"
Since 1981, Depeche Mode has released 11 studio albums worth of original songs - and the New Wave station on Sirius is hell-bent on playing every single damned one of them!

Chipmunk Punk
When I was a little rotund child waddling my way through the house, one of my favorite records was "Chipmunk Punk". This record highlighted some of 1980's (the year, not the decade) best songs. Nevermind you could have saved yourself the trouble of buying this album by just playing the originals at 78RPM, it was still pretty cool for a 4-year old boy.
